Addiction is more than a lack of willpower. It is a complex condition that can affect the brain, body, emotions, relationships, behaviour, and spirit. In this module, you will begin to understand what addiction truly is, why it can be difficult to stop, and why recovery requires more than simply saying, “I will never do it again.” Understanding addiction is the first step toward breaking free.
Addiction often begins as a solution to a problem. It may help you escape pain, numb difficult emotions, manage stress, feel connected, or cope with loneliness. In this module, you will explore what your addiction does for you and identify the needs or emotions hiding beneath the behaviour. Understanding the purpose addiction serves is an important step toward finding healthier ways to meet those needs.
Why do some people become more vulnerable to addiction than others? Addiction often develops through a combination of biological, psychological, social, and environmental factors. In this module, you will explore the experiences, patterns, and circumstances that may increase your personal risk. Understanding your risk factors is not about blame. It is about gaining insight, reducing vulnerability, and making informed choices that support lasting recovery.
Addiction often follows a repeating pattern: trigger, craving, use, temporary relief, and consequences. In this module, you will learn to recognise your personal addiction cycle and identify the points where you can begin to interrupt it. Understanding the cycle helps you move from reacting automatically to making more intentional choices in recovery.
Addiction changes how the brain responds to pleasure, reward, stress, and self-control. In this module, you will explore what happens in the brain during addiction and why cravings and compulsive behaviours can feel so powerful. Understanding the science behind addiction can replace shame with insight—and help you approach recovery with greater compassion and clarity.
Recovery is not a single event—it is a journey of change, growth, and healing. In this module, you will explore the different stages of recovery and learn that setbacks do not mean failure. You will begin to identify the steps, supports, and daily choices that can help you move toward a healthier, more sustainable life. Recovery is possible, one intentional step at a time.
Addiction affects both the body and the brain, but healing is possible. In this module, you will explore how sleep, nutrition, physical activity, medical care, and healthy routines can support your brain and body as they recover. Recovery is not only about stopping the addictive behaviour—it is also about helping your whole body heal and regain balance.
Recovery involves more than changing behaviour—it also means healing the thoughts, emotions, and patterns that may keep addiction alive. In this module, you will explore healthier ways to manage difficult emotions, challenge unhelpful thinking, and develop new coping skills. A healthier mind creates stronger foundations for lasting recovery.
Addiction can damage relationships and create isolation, but recovery does not have to be a journey taken alone. In this module, you will explore how to rebuild trust, strengthen healthy relationships, set boundaries, and reconnect with supportive communities. Healing happens in connection, and healthy support can become a powerful part of lasting recovery.
Recovery is also a journey of meaning, hope, and reconnection. In this module, you will explore your values, purpose, beliefs, and the spiritual resources that can strengthen your healing journey. You will be encouraged to look beyond addiction and rediscover who you are—and the life you are capable of building. Healing the soul can help you find meaning beyond the addiction and hope for the future.
Recovery is strengthened through consistent, intentional practice. In this module, you will take what you have learned and apply it over 40 days of focused recovery work. Through daily reflection, practical exercises, and intentional actions, you will begin building healthier habits and strengthening your commitment to change. One day at a time. One choice at a time. One step closer to freedom.
Recovery does not end when you stop the addictive behaviour. It is an ongoing commitment to protecting your progress and building a life that supports your wellbeing. In this final module, you will learn to recognise warning signs, manage triggers, prepare for high-risk situations, and develop a personalised plan for maintaining recovery. Lifelong recovery is not about perfection. It is about learning, returning, and choosing healing—again and again.
This collection features a selection of YouTube videos sharing the real-life stories of individuals who have successfully overcome addiction and embraced recovery. Through their experiences, they offer powerful testimonies of struggle, relapse, resilience, healing, and hope. These stories remind us that addiction does not have to be the end of a person’s journey. Recovery is possible, and with the right support, treatment, commitment, and community, individuals can rebuild their lives and discover a new sense of purpose. As you watch, reflect on the lessons, challenges, and sources of strength that contributed to each person’s recovery. May these stories inspire hope and reinforce one important truth: no one is beyond healing, and it is possible to begin again.
Addiction is more than a lack of willpower. It affects the body, the mind, emotions, behaviour, relationships, identity and, for many people, the spirit. That is why meaningful recovery often requires more than simply deciding to stop.
Our 12-Module Addiction Recovery Course is a carefully designed, self-paced journey built on the biopsychosocial-spiritual approach to addiction and recovery. It is designed to help you understand not only what you are addicted to, but also what addiction has been doing for you, what may be driving it, and how you can begin to build healthier ways of coping, living, connecting and healing.
Through engaging video lessons, guided reflections, practical worksheets, exercises and recovery-focused tools, each module takes you deeper into understanding your addiction and developing practical strategies for sustainable change.
This is not a course designed for you to simply watch and forget.
It is designed to help you pause, reflect, confront patterns, practise new skills and actively participate in your own recovery.

THE HALL OF FAME OF SURVIVAL STORIES
One of the powerful additions to this course is the Hall of Fame of Survival Stories.
This special section features a carefully selected collection of stories and video testimonies from individuals who struggled with addiction, made the decision to seek change and successfully walked the difficult road toward recovery.
These are stories of people who have quit.
People who have relapsed and risen again.
People who once believed addiction would destroy their future but discovered that healing was still possible.
Their stories are not presented as perfect formulas or guarantees. Recovery journeys are different, and what works for one person may not work for another. Instead, these stories offer something equally powerful:
Hope. Perspective. Encouragement. And the reminder that you are not alone.
Sometimes, seeing someone who has walked through a similar struggle and survived can help you believe that your own story does not have to end where it is today.
TWO POWERFUL COMPANION BOOKS INCLUDED
Your recovery journey is further supported by two valuable books included with the course.
UNSHACKLED
Unshackled is a devotional resource for addiction recovery written by the Lead Therapist, Dr. Anthonia Soje.
Designed to provide daily encouragement, reflection and spiritual support, this devotional invites participants to pause and engage intentionally with their healing journey.
It provides an opportunity to reflect on recovery one day at a time, drawing strength from hope, faith, self-awareness and the possibility of transformation.
For many people, addiction creates not only behavioural and psychological struggles but also questions about identity, meaning, forgiveness, purpose and hope. Unshackled creates space to explore these deeper dimensions of recovery.
THE ADDICTION COMPASS
The second companion resource is The Addiction Compass, an e-book designed to help you better understand the complex nature of addiction.
It explores addiction beyond the surface behaviour and helps guide you through important questions such as:
What is addiction?
Why is it difficult to stop?
What keeps the cycle going?
What role do emotions, trauma and stress play?
What happens in the brain?
Why do cravings and triggers feel so powerful?
What does meaningful recovery require?
The Addiction Compass serves as an additional guide that you can return to throughout your recovery journey, helping you make sense of your experiences and find direction when the path feels confusing.
12 PRACTICAL WORKSHEET EXERCISES
Recovery is not only about receiving information.
It is about what you do with what you learn.
That is why the course includes 12 practical worksheet exercises designed to help you sit with the lessons, reflect honestly and apply what you are learning to your own life.
These worksheets provide opportunities to:
Identify personal triggers
Explore unhealthy coping patterns
Recognise emotional and environmental vulnerabilities
Reflect on the roots and functions of addictive behaviour
Challenge unhelpful beliefs
Examine shame, guilt and identity
Build healthier coping strategies
Strengthen support systems
Develop practical relapse-prevention skills
Create a personalised recovery plan
These are not exercises to rush through.
They are invitations to sit with yourself.
To become curious.
To become honest.
To recognise patterns.
To understand what needs healing.
And to begin practising new ways of responding to life.
A POWERFUL ADDITION TO YOUR RECOVERY JOURNEY
This course is a self-help and educational recovery resource. It is not intended to replace professional treatment, psychotherapy, medical care, rehabilitation services or recovery groups.
Instead, it can become a valuable companion to the work you are already doing.
Think of therapy as a place where you receive professional guidance.
Think of group work as a place where you find accountability and connection.
This course gives you something else:
A structured opportunity to continue working on your recovery between sessions.
You can return to the lessons.
You can revisit the Hall of Fame survival stories.
You can read the companion books.
You can work through the worksheets.
You can reflect on your patterns.
You can track your growth.
You can practise what you are learning at your own pace.
Because recovery is not built only in the therapy room.
Recovery is built in the moments between sessions—when you face a trigger, make a different choice, challenge an old belief, reach for support or decide not to give up.
YOU DESERVE MORE THAN ANOTHER ATTEMPT TO “JUST STOP”
If determination alone was enough, many people would have recovered the first time they promised themselves they would quit.
Real and sustainable recovery often requires understanding, insight, skills, support, repetition, accountability and compassion.
This course gives you a framework to begin developing those foundations.
You do not have to complete recovery perfectly.
You simply need to become willing to show up for your healing—one module, one exercise, one insight and one day at a time.
Your recovery deserves investment.
Not because buying a course will magically cure addiction, but because learning more about yourself can help you make more informed and intentional choices about your healing.
If you are ready to stop merely surviving the consequences of addiction and begin understanding the journey toward recovery, this 12-Module Addiction Recovery Course is an opportunity to take an intentional step forward.
Do not just watch the lessons.
Do the work.
Complete the exercises.
Read the resources.
Reflect honestly.
Learn from the survival stories.
Apply what you learn.
Return when you struggle.
Reach for support when you need it.
Celebrate when you grow.
Because recovery is not simply about giving something up.
It is about building a life you no longer need to escape from.
